About Me

About Me

Hello! Cama'i!

I am a fisheries social scientist and wild seafood lover who has worked in political ecology in Alaska for over a decade. I am honored to live and work on the ancestral homelands of the Alutiiq/Sugpiaq of Kodiak Island. My collaborative community-based research explores cultural values, access, equity, and well-being in fisheries realms. I am a lifelong

Alaskan from Homer. My parents were commercial fishermen who became seafood restaurant

entrepreneurs opening Boardwalk Fish & Chips on the Homer Spit.

I live in Kodiak, Alaska with my husband Chris, dogs Marmot and Tonki, and cat Bella, where we operate a small-scale

family run commercial fishing operation on the F/V North Star.
